We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Service Engineer for the maintenance and repairs of our wide range of plant and equipment. This role will be based at our Soutra Mains Quarry, Pathhead, however you must hold a full driving licence as you will be required to cover our other sites as and when required.
The ideal candidate will preferably have previous experience within the quarry/mining industry. However applicants with relevant mechanical experience will be considered.
This role requires a great degree of independence as well as an ability to work on your own initiative.
You will be a team player who is equally comfortable working alone to meet the demands of our busy maintenance division. Attention to detail along with a focus on Health & Safety is vital for this role.
The successful candidate will be supplied with a fully equipped service vehicle and remuneration package to suit the role.

We currently have a vacancy for a General Quarry Operative, based at our Soutra Mains Quarry in the Scottish Borders.
Applicants should have experience of working in a quarrying environment or similar and be competent in operating a Wheeled Loader or Dump truck.
Reporting to the Quarry Operations Manager, your role will be a ‘hands on’ position. You will become fully aware of the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies and ensure they are adhered to at all times. The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work. You will ideally hold a current MPQC/CPCS skills card; however, training and development will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills to take on this role.
Working in this busy environment, you will be responsible for the daily inspections, maintenance and housekeeping associated with your work role.
This position is ideal for a highly motivated person with experience of plant operations preferably with knowledge of aggregates.
Working in a busy production yard the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily production of concrete blocks. Forklift experience would be beneficial however training can be provided, experience in operated automated machinery is preferred but not essential. Training on the operations of the block machines will be provided. the successful candidate will need to be motivated and driven to meet production targets.
This is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires the successful person to operate a concrete mixing plant which includes manual operation of the plant and system, loading mixer trucks with material and being responsible for maintaining the already high standards of health and safety onsite. Although full training will be given, applicants would benefit from having previous experience in a similar role
